Berlin/Munich, December 2, 2025 – NEX Aero, an emerging developer of advanced heavy-lift drone systems, introduces its restructured leadership team along with initial strategic measures that are aimed at accelerating its path to market.
Strengthening leadership for the next phase of growth
Dr. Uwe Gross has been appointed CEO. With over 15 years of experience in innovation, entrepreneurship, and business development – including key roles at Porsche in the Urban Air Mobility sector – he brings a clear vision for turning technological potential into scalable business.
Founder and CTO Johannes Garbino-Anton continues as CTO. A seasoned aerospace engineer, he previously led groundbreaking work in hydrogen-electric flight systems at the German Aerospace Center (DLR) and continues to drive NEX Aero’s technology roadmap and certification strategy.
Martin Stobbe, formerly with Volocopter and Intel, takes on the role of CPO – supported by a strong team of engineers across all systems and disciplines. He brings extensive experience in developing both autonomous and crewed eVTOL platforms and now leads the engineering team at NEX Aero.
Strategic Positioning for Market Entry
Following an in-depth market analysis and extensive data collection over the past year, NEX Aero has finalized the definition of its first product. The company is currently in the process of building its enhanced prototype, which is designed to enable early market access and establish a clear path to profitability.
While hydrogen propulsion remains the company’s long-term mission, the initial market entry will be enabled by a system that can be implemented more cost-effectively, quickly, and reliably – addressing urgent logistical challenges with a scalable solution.
